As fitness month winds down, staff and students at Polk Street School participated in a Wellness March. All took a walk around the block and then gathered on the blacktop to make a lifetime commitment to fitness and "seal it" by blowing bubbles into the air. Enjoy this short video that highlights the events of the afternoon. What is your commitment to fitness?

We at Polk Street School are proud of our Frankin Square Historical Society Essay Contest winners. They were honored, along with nine other Franklin Square School District students, at the 27th annual awards ceremony held at Washington Street School on March 25th. This year's essay contest topic was, "What I Would Do in the World Today if I Were an Adult". Congratulations to each of them on this fine achievement.

The "National Circus Project" Visits PSS
For three days this past week, The National Circus Project taught and entertained students and staff at Polk Street School. All were treated to an assembly on Wednesday. Over the next few days, each class then participated in smaller, hands-on workshops, where they got to try out juggling, plate-spinning, and stilt-walking, to name just a few of the circus type activities presented. Thank you to the PSS PTA, especially Mrs. Keeling, for bringing this exciting experience to Polk Street School. Take a few moments to watch as students and staff participate in "The Greatest Show on Earth!" What is your favorite circus act?
